IT IS TIME!

Proverbs 3:5-6 says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Over the past several months we have been on one crazy ride here at Destination. Our desire has always been to be in the center of God’s good and perfect will. Even though we may not have understood what God was doing, we submitted to Him knowing he will make our paths straight.

Around the end of December and beginning of January we were made aware of a property here in Williamstown that was available. From the beginning we have asked God that if it was His will for us to purchase this property that He would open the doors and make it evident. We also prayed that if it was not his will, that He would shut the doors and make it evident.

As of today, we are excited to announce that after much prayer, it is evident that God has opened the doors for Destination Church and the Elders have agreed that it is time to follow God’s lead, step out in faith and purchase the property.

As you may remember, the original price of the property was $599,999.00. The bank offered to “gift” $150,000 bringing the purchase price to $450,000. Originally, the bank wanted us to purchase the property in cash. After many meetings, phone calls and discussions, the bank has agreed to finance the property with Destination providing a 10% deposit. It is now time for us, Destination Church, our family, to raise the 10% deposit required to purchase the property.

Brothers and Sisters, we are asking that each and every one of you please pray this week as to what God would have you give. Our goal is to not to build a large building with all the bells and whistles but to be the “hands and feet” of Christ here in Williamstown. Our desire is to be a hospital for the tired, broken, bruised, burdened and sick. Jesus said in Mark 2:17 “"It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners”. Our passion to follow the example Jesus set and to meet the spiritual and physical needs of our community. Rather than spending large amounts of money on a fancy building, our desire is to have a humble sanctuary for us to gather together in. Lord willing and with His guidance and your help, we will provide ministries for the community like a food pantry, thrift store, free family counseling, addiction and intervention programs, a crisis pregnancy center and whatever else God would have us do with His property.

Paul writes in Ephesians 3:20, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us”, God can do more than you and I can even imagine, but we need to be willing to be used. We ask today that you allow God to use you according to His good and perfect will. Please pray and ask God what He would want you to give towards this project. Over the next several weeks, we ask that any offerings and gifts you have for the new property and building be designated as such on the offering envelope so that not only will the monies be deposited correctly but so you may also receive the proper credit for taxes.

We are aware that we live in tough times but we are also aware that it is impossible to please God without faith (Hebrews 11:6). Out of faith, we ask that you seek God and His direction. If God has blessed you to give immediately, praise God. If God has placed an amount on your heart and it may take several weeks or months to meet that goal with weekly gifts, praise God. We ask that you seek God’s will and trust that He will provide. Next Sunday we will ask for everyone to fill out a pledge card with the amount God has placed on your heart. 

In Genesis 22, we discover that God’s name is Jehovah-Jireh, which means God will provide. We are confident that God would not ask us to move if He also wouldn’t provide. It is an honor to be used by God and to be part of His eternal plan. It is no longer a question of “Does God want us to use this property for Him” but “How will God use you and I”.

Thank you again for your prayers! We are excited about what God has planned for Destination Church and even more excited about the lives that will forever be changed because we chose to follow His will!
